FÉRAHAN carpet, (Persia), late 19th century Dimensions: 270 x 140cm. Technical features: Wool velvet on cotton backing. A jagged navy field supports a vegetal trellis of stylized multicolored flowers, forming a tangle of star-crossed compositions. Two pistachio borders with stylized garlands frame the main brickwork with a succession of polychrome geometric plants. (Minor wear and maintenance restorations).
