SAROUK carpet (Iran), mid-20th century Dimensions: 380 x 271cm. Technical features: Wool velvet on cotton backing. A brick field covered with a sowing of flowers in pastel hues, supports in its center a floral medallion, polylobed, vegetalized, polychrome. Four ivory floral spandrels complete the picture. Two pale sky counter-borders with garlands, highlighted with florets and sawtooth, frame the main ivory border with a succession of flowering corollas on stems.
