Important signed TABRIZ carpet (Persia), early 20th century Dimensions : 470 x 370cm. Technical features : Wool velvet on cotton backing. A brick-red background supports an oblong ivory counter field with multicolored floral scrolls, enriched by a poly-lobed brick floral medallion, supported by two old gold scrolls. Two ivory counter-borders with garlands of flowers frame a midnight-blue border with a succession of flower bouquets and vases. Signed in a cartouche, the translation being "made by Chahlapoor".
