AGRA carpet (India), late 19th century Dimensions: 199 x 122cm. Technical features: Wool velvet on cotton backing. An ivory field supports a latticework of delicate multicolored floral scrolls, forming imperceptible multi-lobed rhomboid medallions. The main champagne border features blossoming corollas on leafy stems. Two cherry counter-borders with garlands of flowers complete the frame. Great distinction.
