Important ISPAHAN carpet (Iran), mid-20th century Dimensions : 435 x 310cm. Technical features : Wool velvet on cotton backing. A cherry-red field supports a sowing of poly-lobed floral compositions, formed of branches adorned with florets, multicolored corollas and braced leaves. The whole forms a planted pavement. Four counter borders, ivory and navy, with garlands of polychrome florets and leaves frame the main border, with large Moorish crenellations, sky and brick, in positive/negative, with delicate polychrome vegetation. Great presence.
