AFGHANE gallery carpet, (Afghanistan), late 20th century. Dimensions: 290 x 74cm. Technical features: Wool velvet on cotton backing. A brick field hosts twenty-two small octagonal ghüls, interspersed with stylized starry floral compositions. Anthracite main border with plant garlands, flanked by two brick counter-borders with geometric designs. Kilim at each end. Beautiful homogeneity.
