SAROUK gallery carpet (Iran), late 20th century Dimensions: 320 x 94cm. Technical features: Wool velvet on cotton backing. A cream field sown with small multicolored vegetal palmettes is framed by a cherry border with a polychrome undulating floral garland, flanked by two royal blue counter borders with florets. Plain cream outer braid. Sober and decorative.
