KACHAN carpet (Iran), late 20th century Dimensions: 295 x 202cm. Technical features: Wool velvet on cotton backing. An ivory field covered with polychrome floral scrolls supports in its center an oblong, poly-lobed, cruciform, vegetalized, cream, navy and sky medallion and its pendants. Four Moorish spandrels with plant stems encircle the whole. Cream border with multicolored floral interlacing, highlighted by two jagged turquoise counter-borders adorned with garlands of flowers. A pleasant, homogeneous set.
