DJOCHAGAN carpet (Iran), circa 1965 Dimensions: 338 x 236cm. Technical features: wool velvet on cotton backing. A bluish octagonal counter-field, highlighted with ivory lacework, rests on a ruby field, supporting a ruby lozenge medallion, highlighted, with an ivory and sky cruciform heart. The whole is covered with a vegetal décor of flowering vases and multicolored plant compositions. Main ruby border with stylized polychrome floral boxes, framed by two ivory counter-borders with garlands of flowers. Chess pawn and floret highlights. Beautiful chromatic palette.
