GABBEH carpet (Iran), circa 1975 Dimensions: 240 x 225cm. Technical features: wool velvet on cotton backing. A square field, ruby abraché, with a sowing of small animals, plants, gems and Medes stars, serves as a case for a small crenellated diamond-shaped medallion, old gold, anthracite and ivory. The frame features a black and white checkerboard pattern highlighted with gold and sky braid. Original Gabbeh square, naive.
