EREVAN carpet (Armenia-Caucasus), 3rd third of the 20th century Dimensions: 148 x 102cm. Technical features: Wool velvet on cotton backing. An ivory field hosting a cream crenellated lozenge medallion adorned with a multicolored polylobed corolla, surrounded by emerald birds, supports stylized polychrome floral and foliage scrolls. Four spandrels, in the same style as the central medallion, embellish the whole. The frame is divided into three ivory and ruby borders with garlands of geometric florets. A beautiful set of Caucasian Kouba decoration.
