YAGÇIBÉDIR carpet (Asia Minor), 3rd third of the 20th century Dimensions: 202 x 108cm. Technical features: Wool velvet on wool foundation. An oblong navy serrated hexagonal medallion, with a stylized multicolored flower at its heart and arrowed, speckled pendants, sits at the center of a long flaming cherry counter-field. The whole is set on a navy field of multicolored angular plant compositions. Chestnut border with geometric corollas set on stylized polychrome undulating scrolls, flanked by a cherry and a navy counter-border, both with garlands of florets. Beautifully fresh.
