BERGAME carpet (Asia Minor), 3rd third of the 20th century - Lot 291
BERGAME carpet (Asia Minor), 3rd third of the 20th century Dimensions: 342 x 253cm. Technical features: Wool velvet on cotton backing. A navy field framed by four ruby pentagons, with emerald and floral highlights, supports four oblong, cruciform and geometrically stylized ruby, turquoise and navy counterfields. The central pistachio cross, with church (!) contours, hosts a turquoise entomic shape. Fleurettes and small stars complete the decor. A wide ivory border with a succession of multicolored stylized corollas is flanked by two ruby counter-borders with a series of small two-tone lozenges. Beautiful ethnicity.
