LENKHORAN carpet, (Caucasus), late 19th century Dimensions: 256 x 160cm. Technical features: Wool velvet on wool foundation. Brick background decorated with a large cherry-red "Samovari" medallion (reminiscent of Russian Samovars) and four spandrels with floral motifs and stylized geometric symbols. Brick main border with multicolored geometric flower garlands and two "sawtooth" braids.
