MELAS carpet, (Asia Minor), 3rd third of the 20th century Dimensions: 204 x 122cm. Technical features: Wool velvet on wool foundation. An ivory field with plant outgrowths supports four large floral Saint Andrew's crosses in pistachio and old rose. The upper branches are more geometric, with navy, pink, sky and ruby accents. Flowering stems and two pink reserves with undulating branches complete the decor. The pistachio border is segmented into caissons with stylized floral decoration. Ivory and navy floret highlights. Beautifully presented.
