MELAS carpet, (Asia Minor), 3rd third of the 20th century. Dimensions: 168 x 99cm. Technical features : Wool velvet on cotton backing. An old gold border with a series of cruciform caissons and stylized star-shaped flowers frames a long, ivory field with a semiset of florets and a serrated parma mihrab adorned with geometric shapes. Ivory counter-border with fleururettes. Two-tone serrated outer border. Beautiful set. (Minor wear to bangs).
