Magnificent TEHRAN (Persia) carpet, late 19th century Dimensions : 314 x 223cm. Technical features: Wool velvet on cotton backing. A poly-lobed brick floral medallion sits at the center of a marine field, decorated with a multitude of varied, multicolored flowers. Four purplish and turquoise scrolled spandrels enhance the whole. Two ivory counter-borders with flowery garlands enclose the main one, decorated with polychrome floral cartouches.
