SEÏKHOUR carpet (Caucasus), late 19th century Dimensions: 158 x 116cm. Technical features: Wool velvet and wool backing. Framed by three borders, two ivory and one brick, all with garlands of multicolored stylized flowers, stands out an anthracite field with a sowing of stylized botehs. Interspersed with brick flowers in full bloom, three lozenge-shaped medallions in brick and turquoise, with hearts adorned with polychrome floral forms, are highlighted by flanking pink cartouches. Foliage and small symbols complete the picture.
