INDOCHINA late 19th - early 20th century
Display cabinet in exotic wood, richly carved on all three sides in bas-relief and high-relief with animal scenes amidst plants on two panels, lotus flower framed by vine branches on the apron, rose branches and bamboo.
It is composed of five interlocking registers and rests on four scrolled feet, each register highlighted by carved and openwork friezes decorated with dragons and auspicious signs, a bat framing a suite of three bis, vine branches and a dragon above the waves.
It opens with two leaves, one of which is glazed and decorated with bamboos.
The pagoda-shaped base is decorated with auspicious signs and topped with a chine de fô.
