TABRIZ carpet in silk (Persia), end of the 19th century Dimensions: 390 x 290cm. Technical characteristics : silk velvet on silk foundation. A plain, oblong and polylobed garnet field supports a magnificent spherical polychrome vegetalized rosette and its arrowed pendants. Four sublime spandrels with multicolored plant arabesques surround the whole. Two large ivory borders segmented by three garlands of flowers frame the main garnet with a succession of blooming corollas on delicate floral stems. Sublime palette and great distinction.
