Silk KACHAN carpet (Persia), late 19th century Dimensions : 208 x 135cm. Technical characteristics : Silk velvet on silk foundation. Density of 630 000 knots in a square meter. A tree of life, framed by two flowering vases, stands out on the ivory background of this carpet, whose mihrab vault is formed by a plant tangle. Two coral borders with flowery garlands frame the main one, turquoise, with floral succession.
