Silk CASH carpet (India), mid 20th century Dimensions : 197 x 132cm. Technical characteristics : silk velvet on silk foundation. A spherical starry rosette in old gold, old rose and ivory, and its pendants, is enthroned in the center of an ivory mandorla field, with floral scrolls, surrounded by vegetal petals. Four old gold spandrels decorated with blooming corollas complete the decoration. The frame consists of a large ruby border with ivory boxes and floral compositions on plant stems, flanked by two ivory counter-borders with floral stems and small boxes old gold and two other old gold, garlands of flowers. Beautiful presence.
