Tapestry of Flanders, from the end of the 16th century Technical characteristics : Wool and silk Dimensions : 278 x 177 cm Scene of deer hunting in the undergrowth, for this elegant tapestry where we see a richly dressed rider ringing the olifant, accompanied by his wife riding her steed in amazon. They are in pursuit of a deer attacked by ferocious dogs led by a faun-like driver. Two other hunters take part in the hunt. Frondaisons with beautiful colors enriched with a blazoned shield. Wide border with garland of flowers and multicolored fruits where various birds are hidden. Nice freshness. (Minor wear and maintenance restoration)
